Why Pink?
Why are Horvath's Heroes pink? It's not Miss Horvath's favorite color (it's green); it's more than a color to Miss H. and her family. Pink represents the strength it takes to get through a tough time. in March of 2009, Miss Horvath's mom, Mrs. Horvath, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now, 4 years later, she is strong, healthy, and CANCER FREE. Over the past few years we have participated in The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure as Horvath's Heroes. After 3 years and raising over $10,000, we are giving our walking and running shoes a break. We still strongly encourage you to participate in this incredible experience that raises money for such an important cause.
At the end of the day, Heroes are PINK because we believe in something, we stand for something, and we have pride in who we are. Something to think about this year as you become a Hero - what do YOU believe in, what do YOU stand for, and are YOU proud of yourself? This is why we wear PINK. :)
